Hello, everyone! I’m Aneesh, a Flutter developer with a passion for creating unique apps. Over the years, I’ve worked on multiple projects, but I’ve always dreamed of building a social media app that connects people in a truly innovative way.

The Inspiration Behind Avion

The idea for Avion: Real-Time Audio Clubs & Social Networking took shape when I first heard about the Clubhouse app. Clubhouse had become a massive hit, and I was intrigued after a client mentioned it during a conversation. As I dug deeper, I was amazed by its simple yet powerful concept — real-time audio conversations where users could join rooms and participate live.

However, as I explored Clubhouse, I noticed a significant issue: the lack of quality control in room creation. Anyone could create a room, leading to inconsistent quality and a diminished user experience. This inspired me to not just replicate the concept but to improve it by addressing these pain points.

That’s how Avion was born. My vision was to create a platform that not only offered real-time audio conversations but also ensured high-quality interactions, engaging features, and monetization opportunities for room owners.

Key Areas of Focus

Verification System for Quality Rooms

One of the biggest lessons from Clubhouse’s decline was that unrestricted room creation led to reduced quality. In Avion, we introduced a verification system to ensure only verified users can create rooms. This approach maintains the quality of discussions and builds trust within the community.

Earning Opportunities for Room Owners

To empower room owners, Avion provides multiple monetization options:

• Entry Tickets: Room owners can set ticket prices, and users must purchase tickets to join exclusive rooms.

• Paid Club Events: Organize premium events where participants pay to attend.

• Donations: Users can support room owners and their activities through voluntary contributions.

These features not only ensure high-quality rooms but also create opportunities for room owners to earn while fostering engaging conversations.

UI & UX Experience

The app’s design was another priority. From my experience with app development, I’ve learned that a clean and intuitive interface is essential for user retention.

• Simplified Navigation: Users can explore clubs and join rooms effortlessly.

• Personalized User Interface: Avion adapts to user preferences, displaying relevant clubs and rooms based on interests.

• Responsive Design: Seamless performance across devices and screen sizes ensures a consistent experience.

Development and Testing

The development phase took around two and a half months, focusing on building real-time audio capabilities and an intuitive user experience. This was followed by rigorous testing over 1–2 weeks to ensure flawless performance. Special attention was given to the integration of monetization and verification features.

Powered by Svara

Developing real-time audio capabilities was one of the biggest challenges. Instead of relying on expensive services like Agora, I created Svara, our in-house real-time communication (RTC) platform.
